BARBADOS – The regional launch of UNIFEM’s campaign to End
Violence Against Women is not for those most...

Sexual violence against women is high across the Caribbean, with all CARICOM countries showing higher than the global average per capita rates. Yet still, crisis centres report significant under-reporting of all forms of sexual violence as victims lack confidence in the administration of justice. CariMAN is a regional network of individuals, researchers, activists and organisations (public and private) that work with Caribbean men to promote gender equality and prevent Violence Against Women. CariMAN's members work with men as a strategy to encourage all Caribbean men to embrace the qualities of non-violence, humility, compassion, nurturing, appreciation and respect for others as masculine values.
