Overcoming Violence against Women and Children: Achievements and Perspectives International Conference
ANNACenteris pleased to announce the International Conference entitled “Overcoming Violence against Women and Children: Achievements and Perspectives”.
Different aspects of the activities in the field of the prevention of violence will be viewed at the panels, seminars, round table discussions and workshops within the framework of the conference, namely:
“Mobilizing communities for the elimination of violence against women and children”
“Children’s right to life without violence: the model program of the prevention of violence against children”
“Standards of training and recruitment of help line counselors”
“Protection of survivors of domestic violence in Russia: the need of adopting the law on the prevention of domestic violence”
“Changing the attitudes: public educational campaigns”
“Coping with anger: programs for perpetrators”
The goal of the conference will be summing up the results of the work and shaping the common vision and strategy of the movement against domestic violence against women and children in contemporary Russia.
Within the framework of the conference the participants will develop the strategic plan of activities which will contribute to coordinating activities of the organizations working in the field of the advancement of the needs of the women exposed to violence. This plan is to become the base for the future projects and lines of cooperation with government institutions and authorities. In addition, the plan is to contribute to further advance of the issue of violence against women in the bodies of legislative and executive power.
The conference will take place in Gelendzhik, the Krasnodar Region, Russia, on June 20 – 22, 2012. Arrival is on June 19, departure is on June 23. The venue is Golubaya Volna Hotel by the Black Sea.
