Hollaback! works to end street harassment

Hollaback is a movement to end street harassment of women and LGBTQ individuals using mobile-technology. Using mobile apps, people can share stories and experiences, creating a crowd-sourced initiative to end this pervasive form of gender-based violence.
Hollaback started in 2005 in New York City and has now spread internationally. Activists conduct rallies, community-led initiatives and awareness raising programs to end street harassment in cities across the world. Challenging abusive actions such as groping, flashing or verbal harassment in public spaces targeted at women and the LGBTQ community, Hollaback offers a space to share stories and unpack issues such as power, violence and sex as they play out on the street.
